Alright, I know this blog supposed to be about Konami but I just can’t help but to continue to follow what Hideo Kojima has been up to. Sure it’s a loss for Konami when Hideo disembarked, but I know that it doesn’t really phase them. In the corporate world, everyone is replaceable. I can’t agree with that as there is only one Hideo.
In keeping up with what Hideo has been up to I came across his YouTube channel KOJIMA PRODUCTIONS. He has created a little mini series called “Hideo Tube” which, off the bat has gained over 400k subscribers and growing. They must be his die hard fans like myself.
Already you can see Kojima’s mind and his understanding for the need for innovation in the industry. And by disembarking from Konami, he is able to do just that. By building an online following and becoming more interactive with his fans, he will be able to create more innovations and interactions with the gamers of the world both in game and off. It’s just what he does. He’s always looking to evolve.
As you can see in the second episode of his “Hideo Tube” mini series (posted below), Hideo has been visiting game studios all over the world. This gets me excited because you know he’s up to something good! Whether it be to look for studios to work with or trying to learn from them to better himself, I’m sure great things will manifest from Kojima Productions.
He’s free now to let his true artistic expression through video games, or whatever medium, to flourish. You can already see the difference of his aura in his videos compared to the Phantom Pain Debriefing. He seems more happy and excited. That right there is the result of winning the war of art.
Watch his “battles” here and take a peek into his mind:
